Anti-tax activist Grover Norquist has long held a tight grip on the marionette strings of the GOP. Wielding undue influence as the head of the Americans for Tax Reform, Norquist ensures that Republican lawmakers sign his anti-tax pledge and threatens them withelectoral defeat should they even think of deviating from it.

But if Norquist’s only goal is to “crush the other team,” it seems he’ll stop at nothing to do so.
COH please.

The last thing Norquist can be called is a Patriot.
The only thing I see here is that Norquist is still reveling in the 2010 elections, and thinks the ride will continue. With the plummeting approval rating of the Tea Parties in their many forms, the declining approval rating of those Governors swept in to power (and I mean POWER), the recalls and attempted recalls of governors and congressional figures, I'm hoping Norquist will meet the same fate. He's gotta go (by sheer isolation and exclusion).

I read this the other day, and smiled. It's one thing for a lowly, rank and file Tea Partier to express the deluded opinion that letting the Bush tax cuts expire is an impeachable offense, but to read that someone at the very top of the conservative hierarchy feels the same way- well, it just let's me know being weak-minded and driven to irrationality by emotion is a common trait of movement conservatism from bottom to top.

Oops, subtract the apostrophe from "let's". Cringe.
Thank you Dowser.:).
NJ: What if the Democrats still have control? What’s your scenario then?
NORQUIST: Obama can sit there and let all the tax [cuts] lapse, and then the Republicans will have enough votes in the Senate in 2014 to impeach. The last year, he’s gone into this huddle where he does everything by executive order. He’s made no effort to work with Congress.
Yep, that's what he said. He evidently believes that a President allowing a built-into-the-law expiration date to pass without taking action to extend it is an impeachable offense. That's irrational.
